Honey Pot Feminized is a 60% sativa-dominant hybrid bred by the team at Ziplock Seeds at their outdoor breeding grounds in Hawaii as a part of the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds project. To create this strain, breeders began with Sensi Seeds’ Fruity Juice, which is a mixture of pure Afghani and Thai genetics, and then crossed that with a hybrid of Pomegranate Spritzer and Sade, which adds in genetics from Gas Drop, Black Spritzer and Druntz.
This meticulous breeding program has resulted in a strain known for its rather tall plants, potential for XXL yields, and dense, frosty buds that are ideal for creating award-winning rosin or other extracts. These tall plants can become unruly if grown indoors without any form of training, but they respond quite well to a range of growing techniques. While these plants perform well in nearly any environment, they truly thrive in cooler, drier climates.
Honey Pot Feminized cannabis seeds typically grow into fairly tall plants with an open, productive canopy that’s ideal for maximising light penetration and airflow. These plants feature fairly stretched internodal spacing and a large main cola that rises only slightly above the lower canopy. The lateral branches are likely to stay on the shorter side, giving the plant a fairly cylindrical shape.
When grown indoors, Honey Pot Feminized cannabis plants typically reach maturity at a height of 100-160 cm and can generate XXL yields in the range of 450-650 grams per square metre. Outdoors, these plants truly shine, growing to impressive sizes of 175-300 cm while producing up to 550-750 grams per plant over their 60 to 65-day flowering period.
The flowers harvested from Honey Pot Feminized plants are dense and coated in a thick layer of sugary trichomes, vivid orange pistils, and excellent resin coverage. While dense and heavy, the buds themselves are on the smaller side, so growers should anticipate a large number of golfball-sized nugs with minimal vegetation, making trimming a lengthy but simple process.
Honey Pot Feminized plants can be challenging to grow indoors, so anyone worried about space should consider flowering these plants a bit earlier than usual. This strain’s rapid vegetative growth, significant stretch in early flowering, and long internodal spacing make it an ideal pick for a screen of green (SCROG) setup or for mainlining. However, these same traits mean that this strain is a poor choice for a sea of green (SOG) grow. These plants can be lollipopped with little trouble, though the open, airy frame makes it largely unnecessary.
As harvest approaches, Honey Pot Feminized plants begin to take on a powerfully rich and expressive aroma dominated by fresh fruit and a subtle sweetness. The scent of fresh-picked berries and notes of tropical fruit come in from the Fruity Juice parent, while sparkling undertones of red fruit come in through the Pomegranate Spritzer line, and Sade contributes a deeper, more grounded base. These are all complemented by a delicious blend of zesty citrus, smooth, slightly musky notes, and a gentle peppery, herbal spice.
Once they have been dried, these flowers unleash an enticing blend of sweet mixed fruit and citrus peel, with subtle spicy and earthy undertones. The flavour captures all of these notes, opening up with bright, juicy, fruity sweetness on the inhale that’s followed by a sour citrus flavour, and finishing with a warm, softly spiced aftertaste.
The high from Honey Pot Feminized is gentle and balanced, and starts with an uplifting, euphoric burst of mental clarity, ideal for creative or social settings. After some time, this melts into a more comforting body buzz that’s relaxing without being overly sedative. Overall, this strain is a great pick for either daytime creativity or evening relaxation.
