Well done if you were organized enough to make your New Year’s Resolutions already. However, some of us woke up on January 1st 2015 with no idea of what to give up or what to resolve to do for the following twelve months. In order to help us all at this potentially fragile moment, we’ve made this handy list of resolutions for you to pick and choose from – or set yourself a high standard and go for them all!
Did we miss something essential? (We might have done. We’ve been celebrating too, you know!) Be sure to let us know in the comments, and also tell us which ones are your most or least favourite!

Get informed and spread the word!

There is plenty of great information about cannabis (especially on this blog). Resolve to read one post a week, and start a conversation about it with someone. You don’t have to be using cannabis together to talk about it, although of course this is an option.

Vote and promote

Are there any cannabis legislation proposals coming up in your area? Make sure you vote on them! Are you not registered to vote? Get your name on the list! Are you not eligible to vote? You can still promote these proposals! Even if you don’t live in the area they will affect, you can make a difference. Anti-cannabis campaigns may have more money and greater resources, but we have a close community that covers the whole world.

Stop smoking, start vaping

An increasing number of cannabis enthusiasts switch to vaporising after years of burning cannabis in one way or another. On top of the obvious health benefits, it works out cheaper in the long run, so if another of your New Year’s Resolutions is to save money, you can see buying a vaporizer as an investment. Go on, treat yourself.

Get high and exercise

Get high and exercise

Getting more exercise must be one of the most-made and most-broken New Year’s Resolutions. Take a leaf out of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s book by getting high before you work out, not after, to take the tedium out of repetitive activity! In a 1989 interview with the Los Angeles Times, the former Mr Olympia shared that “We smoked pot once or twice a week before we went to the gym.” This resolution is especially for all of you who got a gym membership as a holiday gift last year.

Eat more hempseed!
Eat more hempseed!

Eat healthier munchies and more hempseed

As you are aware, the darkest, coldest time of year is when you need to take best care of your health, and coincides with the festive season of overindulgence. Combine these factors positively! Instead of eating less, eat differently. Replace processed food with fresh fruit and vegetables. Get creative with them. Make a colourful, sweet, crisp fruit salad instead of filling a bowl with bland cereal. Sprinkle hulled hempseed over your food once a day. Your body will thank you and it hardly takes much more effort!

Some of you are probably wondering why we didn’t include consuming more cannabis. However, you’ll agree that this doesn’t need a special promise on a certain day of the year to make it happen! Last year (2014), people mentioning on social media that this was one of their New Year’s Resolutions rocketed up by 71% compared to the previous year. So we think you’ve got that one covered.
Have a very happy new year!
