The international cannabis community is shocked by the news that the well-known drug activist Joep Oomen has died at his home in Antwerpen. Oomen was an unique man who will be sorely missed. On Wednesday 10th February 2016, the Amsterdam court acquitted Dutch medicinal cannabis grower Rudolf Hillebrand of the charge of illegally growing cannabis. The court agreed with the defence that Hillebrand cultivated cannabis as an essential supplement to his HIV medication and definitely not for financial gain. A historic verdict!
On the 4th of February 2016 the Belgium Court of Appeal found Michel Degens, President of the Mambo Social Club, guilty of growing cannabis. He received a suspended sentence with probation and was acquitted of a second charge, namely ‘encouraging people to use cannabis’.

On Thursday the 10th of December 2015 it was exactly 44 years ago that the John Sinclair Freedom Rally took place, organized in response to the imprisonment of this famous activist for possession of cannabis. Three days later Sinclair was freed from prison. Sensi Seeds would like to reflect on this special moment.
