Curing is the process of either healing, or (as in this case) of preserving a harvested product. Curing harvested cannabis usually refers to drying the harvest. This results in a less harsh smoke. A technique known as ‘water curing’ (flushing the harvested cannabis with repeated infusion in clean water) is sometimes used to reduce harshness, but is considered controversial.
1250–1300; (verb) Middle English curen and Middle French curer, from the Latin curare, ‘to take care of’.
