This is the legendary Afghani Indica as a feminized auto flowering strain. With no need to identify and eliminate males, and no need to even change light cycles to induce flowering, it’s been easy to grow. The automatic strain has been grown on the balcony and proved to have a short flowering period, which Sensi Seeds estimates with 50 – 60 days.
Given that cannabis has been virtually prohibited for almost one hundred years, this illegal plant is now enmeshed in a host of myths. Some of them centre around its cultivation, some around how it is further processed and many of them around its use. While decades of discussion mean that cannabis has been relatively well researched, the black market in particular (dealers and users) cannot rely on state certificates or even contracts - it's the spoken word that counts here. But it's like children playing Chinese whispers, resulting in many fantastical ideas being taken at face value in pothead circles. Some of these myths have been circulating for years or even decades, while others are more recent.
In the Kingdom of Bhutan, cannabis is so prolific that it is seen as a pest, and is fed to pigs rather than being used by humans for fibre or intoxicant purposes. Bhutan lacks a close connection with the plant. However, there is some evidence of traditional use, and use in modern times is increasing.
If you live in Los Angeles and possess a prescription for medicinal cannabis, it is now possible to obtain your weed via a genuine pizza dealer. 'Stoned Oven' supplies numerous medical dispensaries, i.e. hemp flower pharmacies, with its cannabis-infused pizza.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in August 2010, it hit me fairly hard and after a succession of severe relapses that showed up on the MRI scanner as lesions in my brain, I was accurately diagnosed.
His name is Günter Weiglein. He is 49 years old, married and has two sons. Since his accident, he has been taking life into his own hands as the manager of "Rent a Pizzeria" and cannabis activist. Günter has been treating his chronic pains with natural cannabis since 2006. Since 2009, he has been in possession of a certificate of exemption to legally buy cannabis flowers from the pharmacy.
The fact that the cannabis community as a whole encounters censorship more often than not should not come as a surprise to anyone. Indeed, the legal status of the Cannabis Sativa plant, in its psychoactive form or otherwise, is still the subject of great discord in many places of the world: a number of these places are currently struggling with the ideological and ethical questions linked to the use of the plant, whether or not to legalize it, and if so, under which conditions. However, there is a noticeable difference between the respective manners in which the parties involved are represented.
Among other effects, consuming cannabis is known to open one’s mind regarding many things. It can help the consumer appreciate a new point of view, a new type of genre, or anything new, really. That is part of the beauty of the cannabis plant used in a recreational fashion! Yet, there are some programs that strike where it pleases: they make you think, they make you learn, they make you laugh. So, be pleased and watch these five TV series, selected by Sylent Jay, for your intoxicated pleasure.
As every city in Spain has some differences in terms of law and regulation, it is interesting to know what happens in every Spanish autonomous community. Catalonia and Barcelona can perhaps show some of the most interesting points of view in terms of cannabis regulation. Barcelona is the only city in Spain that has hundreds of cannabis social clubs and Catalonia is the first community (besides País Vasco) in making steps forward to legalize, officially, medicinal cannabis. The main important body in health issues in Catalonia is the Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya. This is the Department responsible for all matters of public health. The “Conseller”, who is the person in charge of this Department is, currently, Boi Ruiz García. He is the “Conseller de Salut” (the Catalan Health Minister ). It is important to know that an organization named “CatSalut” is also part of the Department of Health , and this is responsible for ensuring universal health care in Catalonia (In Spain there is public, tax-funded health care, so private health insurance is unnecessary). However, neither the public health system nor private health insurance offers an official way for patients to obtain medicinal cannabis.
The Republic of Azerbaijan lies on the boundary dividing Europe from Asia, and is a crucial part of the traditional trafficking route that each year sees thousands of tons of hashish and heroin transported from Afghanistan and Pakistan on to Europe and Russia. Azerbaijan also produces a small quantity of cannabis and opium.
Henk Poncin (76) is one of the founding fathers of Green Prisoners Release Amsterdam (GPRA). Thanks to this initiative, an American couple that fled to the Netherlands in 1994 to escape disproportional jail time for growing medicinal cannabis, received a much lower sentence. The GPRA later became the Cannabis College.
This section introduces some famous cannabis activists who have been detained for cannabis, yet used their sentence to create an even bigger stage on which to highlight the insanity of the war on drugs. A tribute to those who have sacrificed a portion of their lives in the interests of the entire cannabis community.
Similarly to mushrooms, cannabis had several benefits to offer the early communities that first encountered it, which may even have been as early as 27,000 BP. Not only did it provide fibre and seed, it also quickly demonstrated its usefulness in the early pharmacopoeia, and it is very likely that its psychoactive effects were utilised in religious practice from very early on (although the first direct evidence of cannabis as a pharmacological agent is thought to date from 2,700 BP). Social use of cannabis has been shown to strengthen interpersonal relationships, increasing feelings of cohesion and trust.
Almost every cannabis user is aware to some extent of its lighting requirements. However, 18/6 and 12/12 cycles are not the whole picture. Throughout the typical day, the sun’s light varies in wavelength and intensity in ways that plants can sense with an internal mechanism known as the circadian clock.
Cannabis is known to be a photoperiod-dependent plant; when day length decreases as summer draws to a close, the plants typically stop growing new shoots and leaves and begin to focus all of their energy on flower production. But at the equator, day length is consistently around 12/12, with very little seasonal variation.
Despite growing interest in the medicinal benefits of cannabis, funding for new research can be hard to come by. Federal government funding seems largely geared towards investigating the negative aspects of cannabis, while studies assessing its potential benefit are suppressed. However, there are signs that this is changing.
Cannabis patients and consumers arriving in Europe from overseas are often at a complete loss. Weed and hash mixed with tobacco for consumption? In Canada, the USA and many other parts of the world that is a complete no go. Even tobacco smokers from the other side of the pond would not think of inhaling a 'mix'. Great care is taken to separate the consumption of cigarettes and joints. In Germany and the Netherlands, meanwhile, many patients smoke the cannabis prescribed by their doctor in fat tobacco joints, that would probably turn the stomach of customers of an American hemp pharmacy.
For this reason, and despite the fact that the debate surrounding the legislation is still in progress, proponents say that the goal is to "...legalize and regulate the medical use of cannabis which has been confirmed to have beneficial and therapeutic uses to treat chronic or debilitating disease or medical conditions." All in all, both the use and possession of cannabis are currently illegal in the Philippines and legislation to regulate the medicinal use of marijuana will only apply to certain treatments. All other uses of the plant will remain punishable by law. However, there are other factors at play, such as on the one hand the support of the Church and on the other approval by important political figures such as the Secretary of Health Enrique Ona himself, who is also a proponent of the new bill.
The idea that cannabis cultivation can help mitigate the effects of climate change is not new. However, there is a great deal of disinformation, pseudoscience and outright propaganda from both sides of the legalisation argument, and it can be very difficult for the public to ascertain the reality behind the claims.A prevalent argument holds that planting cannabis alone could replace terpenes released by trees lost to deforestation, which have an important role to play in regulating atmospheric conditions. Specifically, monoterpenes (which all share the chemical formula C10H16) are of particular importance in this mechanism, although other types may also be of significance. As monoterpenes are released, they travel up to the stratosphere, carried by convection currents, and undergo oxidation reactions with ozone, OH, and NO3 in the atmosphere to produce a range of by-products.
