Cannabis Sativa strains in this selection have a large proportion of Sativa genes in their background. Sativa cannabis strains are characterised by a taller stature, slender-bladed leaves, a more open bud structure which often grows in a distinct spiral formation around the branches, and a lighter green color. All Sativa cannabis strains are native to the tropical regions, where the long hot summers caused them to develop a longer flowering time than varieties from harsher climates. Sativa strains are favoured for their clear cerebral high, which can inspire creativity and is more energetic than that of Indica varieties. Plants grown from Cannabis Sativa seeds frequently gain more height and produce a lighter harvest than Indica strains, but there are several hybrids available that combine the uplifting effect of Sativa with the shorter stature and flowering time, and higher yield, of Indicas.
