Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic is a 60% sativa-dominant hybrid created by Sensi Seeds’ Breeding Grounds in collaboration with our friends at Champelli. This blend of our Sticky Orange XXL and Champelli’s Ropeium combines legendary genetics including Thin Mint Cookies, OZ Kush, Lemon Cherry Gelato, Shiva Skunk, and more to create a well-balanced high.
These plants showcase their sativa lineage with a tall and slender frame supporting light, fluffy buds, but can still produce high yields. As an autoflowering strain, Tropical Butter Sauce doesn’t respond particularly well to advanced growing techniques but its average size and moderate aroma make this a good fit for most growers.
Interestingly, the selected phenotype for this strain came out with more sativa-like qualities, while having indica-dominant parents. That's why this particular variation caught the eye of our breeders.
Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic cannabis seeds develop into fairly tall, slender plants with a main stem that towers above the lower canopy. The plants have moderate internodal spacing and vegetative growth which, when combined with the fairly large buds, makes trimming a straightforward task.
Indoor growers should expect Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic to grow to moderate heights ranging from 100-160 cm, and produce high yields of 250-325 grams per square metre. If these plants are grown under natural sunlight, growers can expect them to reach heights of 110-180 cm and produce up to 250 grams per plant over their 65 to 70-day flowering period.
The buds themselves are light and fluffy with dense trichome coverage making them quite resinous. Generally, the buds are slightly elongated and airy, with bright green hues and occasional purple accents, which give them an almost tropical look.
As an autoflowering strain, Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic plants don’t respond well to advanced growing techniques like mainlining or a screen of green (SCROG) setup, since these methods require too much time vegetating. Additionally, their size makes them a poor choice for a sea of green (SOG) grow, and their thin branches make lollipopping or supercropping difficult.
In the final weeks of flowering, Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic begins to give off a moderate, though noticeable, tropical aroma with fruity notes and a distinct mango scent. This is perfectly complemented by earthy and slightly skunky undertones. This smell isn’t likely to alert the whole neighbourhood, but taking a few extra precautions is likely a good idea if you’re concerned with privacy.
After the buds have finished curing, the smell mellows out a bit but retains the fresh mango and tropical fruit notes alongside more subtle hints of garlic, earth and spice. The flavour brings all of these same notes as a sweet and fruity taste of mango and pineapple dominates the inhale. On the back end, hints of garlic and spice with a creamy finish and tropical aftertaste round out the truly pleasant experience.
The effects of Tropical Butter Sauce Automatic are fairly well-balanced with an immediate uplifting and energizing burst of creative energy. As it settles, a deep body relaxation takes hold to soothe the body without locking you to the couch. This strain is a great choice for an afternoon with friends or for getting started on your next creative project.
