Head Knock Automatic is a 60% indica-dominant hybrid crafted alongside our friends at DNA Genetics for the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds project. To create this strain, we started with a blend of DNA Genetics’ DNA Cake (Gelato 33 x Wedding Cake) and a previous Breeding Grounds collaboration; Grease Slapper (Banana Kush Cake x Richard Petty 43). We then crossed that with Ruderalis Indica to add in autoflowering genetics.
While reasonably compact, these plants lean into their sativa genetics, making them ideal for indoor growers who want a more uplifting high but are worried about space. Like many autoflowers, Head Knock Automatic plants don’t respond particularly well to many advanced growing techniques, though they can handle low-stress training quite well thanks to their longer, slender branches. These plants perform best in a warm, semi-dry Mediterranean environment.
Head Knock Automatic cannabis seeds can be expected to grow into reasonably short, though rather bushy plants with thick lateral branches and well-balanced internodal spacing. As flowering starts, expect stacked colas with dense bud sites that develop resin-rich bracts. In the end, these develop into plants with a bushy, yet fairly open frame that allows for adequate light penetration and airflow with lateral branches that rise about halfway up the main stem.
Indoor growers should expect Head Knock Automatic plants to be ready for harvest at a height of 25-85 cm, though they are likely to be in the upper part of that range, and create heavy yields of 250-325 grams per square metre. If grown outdoors, these plants can grow slightly taller, though they’re unlikely to exceed 100 cm while they generate 150-250 grams per plant over their 60 to 65-day flowering period.
The flowers that grow on Head Knock Automatic plants are chunky, very dense, heavily frosted, and covered in a thick layer of oily trichomes on top of lime-green buds with purple highlights, which are accentuated by lowering the nighttime temperature during flowering. While the main cola can run the top third of the plant, the lower branches develop numerous buds, though they aren’t likely to become exceptionally large. Additionally, the flowers develop minimal vegetation, making trimming fairly easy, if slightly time-consuming.
Since Head Knock Automatic plants will flower on their own after just a few weeks, growers don’t have too much control over their final shape and size. However, these plants do respond well to low-stress training techniques like a screen of green (SCROG) or slightly more intensive options like lollipopping. While these plants are rather compact, they may be a bit too tall and open for a sea of green (SOG) setup.
Once flowering starts, Head Knock Automatic plants are likely to take on a sweet vanilla cake aroma with notes of creamy baked goods, more subtle diesel fumes, and a slight citrussy Kushiness on the backend. While these plants are fairly small, the Grease Slapper lineage gives them a powerful aroma that discrete growers may have trouble covering up.
Once the flowers have been cured and dried, they develop a warm, sugary, dough-like scent with an underlying gassy funk, hints of sweet, frosty cake icing, and faint, earthy undertones. Sampling Head Knock Automatic delivers a creamy flavour dominated by distinct notes of vanilla and diesel. The inhale delivers a burst of sweet dough, while the exhale gives users a cookies-and-cream finish that’s perfectly paired with pungent petrol notes on exhale and a lingering, slightly grapey finish.
The high from Head Knock Automatic starts off with a powerfully euphoric, social, and uplifting wave of cerebral energy. This is perfectly paired with a warm body buzz that takes the edge off without locking you to the couch; perfect for long creative sessions. Things wrap up with a smooth, calming relaxation that’s perfect for evening sessions, chill hangs, gaming, music, or creative brainstorming.
