C4 Automatic is a 60% indica-dominant hybrid developed for the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds project together with Serge Cannabis. The original C4 strain is a blend of Triangle Kush and Strawnana, and this version crosses that winning formula with Sensi Seeds’ Ruderalis Indica, the very first autoflowering strain created by Nevil Schoenmakers in the 1980s.

C4 Automatic is one of the most compact strains out there, which, when combined with its potential for heavy yields and autoflowering trait, makes it one of the simplest strains on the market. Newer growers won’t need to worry about light schedules or finding room for a massive plant that’s grown out of control. Additionally, more experienced growers will appreciate these plants for their “set it and forget it” ease, which allows them to be grown in the background while they focus on other projects.

Growth pattern of C4 Automatic

C4 Automatic cannabis seeds grow into remarkably small and compact plants with a thick, robust main stem with a short, bushy frame and sturdy lateral branches growing from incredibly tight internodal spacing. Growers can expect a single main cola that occupies the upper half of the plant, while the lower half of the plant is a dense tangle of short and thick branches, each supporting a respectable secondary cola.

When grown indoors, C4 Automatic plants typically reach maturity at a height of 25-80 cm, and likely on the smaller side of that range. However, they are still capable of generating heavy yields of 250-325 grams per square metre over their 60 to 65-day flowering period. Even grown outdoors, these plants will stay small, finishing at roughly 35-100 cm in height while producing 150-250 grams per plant.

The buds harvested from these plants are chunky, round, golfball-sized nuggets that are extremely dense and almost dripping with sticky resin. The flowers are light green with a thick coating of pale orange pistils and heavy trichome coverage from early in the flowering cycle. These buds are quite leafy and very sticky, which makes trimming a chore. If you’d rather skip the hassle, these plants’ flowers and sugar leaves are incredibly rich options for making extracts.

As an incredibly small autoflowering strain, C4 Automatic is a perfect choice for a sea of green (SOG) setup. However, these same traits mean that these plants are not suited for other advanced growing techniques, as they are simply too small to weave into a screen of green (SCROG), while their short branches and tight internodal spacing make lollipopping unnecessary.

Effects, taste, and smell of C4 Automatic

As C4 Automatic plants begin to flower, growers can expect a rich mix of strawberry fruit smoothie and tropical banana sweetness from the Strawnana parent, while the Triangle Kush lineage adds in notes of warm Kush. The smell is certainly noticeable, though the fact that these plants aren’t ever going to grow very large keeps things in check, making these a great pick for privacy-minded growers.

After curing, the dried buds take on a rich, fruity aroma with highlights of sweet strawberry purée, creamy banana, fresh berry, and hints of gassy Kush, along with light, earthy, doughy undertones. Likewise, the flavour of C4 Automatic is dominated by the creamy taste of a strawberry milkshake and tropical bananas, with a mid-palate of warm, earthy Kush, and a gassy, creamy exhale with a mild, lingering aftertaste.

The effects of C4 Automatic are happy, calm, and euphoric and perfectly balance the head and body effects.
