Berliner Automatic is a 60% indica-dominant hybrid created by Sensi Seeds in collaboration with Sherbinskis. This strain starts with a blend of Tropicana Cherries and GMO (aka GMO Cookies, or Garlic Cookies); both of these strains feature Girl Scout Cookies genetics while also bringing in Tangie and Chemdawg. This hybrid was then crossed with Sensi Seeds’ own Ruderalis Indica to give it the autoflowering trait, resulting in a largely hassle-free strain.
As an autoflowering strain, these plants don’t require any special attention and can thrive in nearly any space. This, combined with their fairly average height, high yields, and somewhat slow growth period, makes this strain ideal for growers with a bit of extra space and time on their hands. Additionally, like nearly every other automatic cannabis variant, these plants do not respond well to advanced growing techniques such as a screen of green (SCROG), sea of green (SOG), or mainlining.
Berliner Automatic cannabis seeds typically grow into fairly well-balanced and bushy plants with moderately tight internodal spacing, boasting strong lateral branches capable of supporting heavy buds. Like many autoflowering indicas, these plants tend to develop a main central cola surrounded by dense secondary buds, giving it a classic Christmas tree-like shape.
When grown indoors, growers can look forward to these plants reaching maturity at a height of roughly 70-110 cm as they make their way through their somewhat long 65 to 70-day flowering cycle. Over this time, Berliner Auto plants are capable of producing high yields of up to 250-300 grams per square metre. Outdoors, these plants don’t grow much larger, with heights of 80-120 cm and yields of 150-200 grams per plant.
The buds from Berliner Automatic are large and chunky, with a frosty coating of sticky trichomes. Colors range from deep green to vibrant reds and purples, accented by bright orange pistils. The heavy resin production gives the buds an oily, almost shimmering appearance and makes them quite sticky. This high resin content, combined with their dense vegetation, makes trimming Berliner Automatic something of a chore.
As with nearly every other autoflowering strain, Berliner Automatic is poorly suited for most advanced growing techniques. Their relatively slow growth and minimal stretch make them a bad fit for mainlining or a screen of green (SCROG) grow. Additionally, their size makes them incompatible with a sea of green (SOG) setup.
As Berliner Auto cannabis plants reach maturity, they fill the grow space with a bold, complex aroma of tropical fruit, overripe cherries, and earthy diesel with hints of garlic and spice. This aroma starts off fairly mild but gradually intensifies as the plants near harvest.
Once the buds have been properly cured, they develop a rich bouquet of sour cherries, sweet citrus, earthy diesel, and savory garlic undertones - You’ll feel like strolling through Markthalle Neun on a Saturday morning. These complex notes all combine to make this strain a standout in any collection. The flavour is equally impressive, with powerful tropical fruit and sour cherry sweetness highlighted by bursts of tangy citrus - like a mouthful . On the exhale, deeper flavours of garlic, earth, and diesel become more pronounced, with a lingering sweet and savory aftertaste.
The effects of Berliner Automatic are potent and long-lasting. Things kick off with an uplifting and cerebral head rush that’s sure to spark creativity and boost even the sourest mood. As things progress, users can look forward to a soothing, body-relaxing effect to set in that’s ideal for easing stress. Overall, this strain is excellent for a day of creative productivity around the house.
