Copenhagen Sour Automatic is a 60% indica-dominant hybrid strain created with the breeders at Fat Beans during the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds project. To breed this autoflowering strain, growers started with a blend of Jealousy (Sherbet and Gelato #41) and The White (a mysterious strain of unknown origins) and then crossed that with a ruderalis indica to add in the autoflowering trait.

These plants are remarkably tall for an autoflowering strain, which could cause trouble for some growers who are working with limited headroom. Since this is an autoflowering strain, there’s not much that growers can do to alter the size of these plants, as they’ll flower on their own after a few weeks of growth. However, they do respond well to low-stress training, allowing them to be grown in slightly more crowded areas. On the whole, Copenhagen Sour Automatic plants thrive in colder, drier climates.

Growth pattern of Copenhagen Sour Automatic

Copenhagen Sour Automatic cannabis seeds tend to develop into rather large plants, particularly for an autoflowering strain. These plants are tall with an upright structure, a dominant central cola, and strong lateral branches. The strain’s genes from The White contribute thick stalks and tight internodal spacing, while the Jealousy lineage allows for larger buds on the lateral branches. The finished plant is likely to have a single large cola rising far above the dense lower canopy.

If grown inside, Copenhagen Sour Automatic plants commonly reach maturity at a height of 100-160 cm while producing heavy yields of as much as 250-325 grams per square metre. Outdoor growers can see these plants grow only slightly taller, growing to around 110-180 cm and generating up to 150-250 grams per plant.

The flowers grown on a Copenhagen Sour Automatic plant are incredibly pale to the point of being nearly white. These striking buds boast tightly-packed, spear-shaped buds that are incredibly hard and dense and covered in extremely dense resin and glistening calyxes. These buds are rather potent and a great choice for creating extracts, though their dense vegetation can make trimming a hassle.

Since Copenhagen Sour Automatic plants are autoflowering, growers have little say in their final shape and size. Overall, these plants aren’t the best pick for advanced growing techniques as their size makes them impossible to grow in a sea of green (SOG) setup and their short lateral branches simply aren’t long enough to weave into a screen of green (SCROG). While the short branches can respond well to lollipopping, there is likely no need.

Once flowering starts, Copenhagen Sour Automatic plants can be expected to take on an incredibly sour aroma that blends fermented citrus rind, sour candy dust, sharp lime acidity, and a hint of solvent-like OG tang to create an extremely powerful aroma that’s certain to turn heads. If you’re a grower who prefers discretion, this strain may present a unique challenge.

The harvested and dried flowers explode with a potent burst of sour gas, zesty lemony bite, sweet raw dough, and a chalky, hash undertone. This deafeningly loud scent is stingingly sour and is all but certain to draw attention as soon as you open the jar. The taste doesn’t disappoint, either, as intense sour lemon-lime flavour takes centre stage on the inhale. This is quickly followed up by creamy notes of gelato and a gassy bite on the exhale, leaving a tart, mouthwatering, and extremely long-lasting aftertaste.
