Cassis Automatic is a 70% indica created by Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds in tandem with the team at Champelli. Cassis became an instant favourite in Californian dispensaries but has, until now, only been available as flowers. We’re excited to offer, for the very first time, seeds of this strain. To create this hybrid, we started with Champelli’s classic Cassis (a mix of Gusher Pie and Gelatti) and crossed that with our Ruderalis Indica to create this autoflowering version.
The result is a very compact plant capable of generating high yields, which makes it a perfect pick for indoor growers operating with limited space. Likewise, outdoor growers who want to maintain a degree of discretion will have no problem keeping these plants out of sight. As an autoflowering strain, Cassis Auto is a breeze to grow, though it isn’t a particularly good fit for many advanced growing techniques.
Cassis Automatic cannabis seeds grow into remarkably dense, compact plants while still being capable of generating high yields come harvest time. Growers should expect tight internodal spacing, thick and robust lateral branches, and dense vegetation. These plants are quite bushy, though easily manageable with a little extra attention.
When Cassis Automatic plants are grown indoors, they typically reach maturity at a height of 40-80 cm and can easily produce high yields of up to 250-300 grams per square metre. If you’re growing these plants under natural sunlight, they can grow larger, though not much. Outdoors, Cassis Auto is unlikely to grow any taller than 45-100 cm but can still produce as much as 150-175 grams per plant. Indoors or out, these plants typically have a flowering period of roughly 60 to 65 days.
The flowers from these plants are dense and resinous with vivid dark purple hues, which become especially pronounced in cooler climates. These buds are typical indica flowers with a conical shape and a thick layer of trichomes. They are typically covered in leaves all along the tight inner nodes. While these buds can be a bit of a hassle to trim, these compact plants typically grow a single large cola supported by a small number of dense secondary buds, which means that trimming shouldn’t take too long.
As a compact autoflowering indica, Cassis Auto cannabis plants don’t respond particularly well to advanced growing techniques. Their branches are too short and the internodal spacing is too tight for a screen of green (SCROG) setup, and they don’t vegetate long enough to be mainlined. However, their diminutive size does mean that they can be grown in a sea of green (SOG).
As Cassis Automatic cannabis plants enter the flowering phase, they begin to give off a sweet berry aroma which blends perfectly with a light to moderate skunkiness. This aroma is distinct without being overpowering, making this a great choice for growers looking for a bit of discretion. As the plants mature, the smell increases slightly and begins to take on a more distinct black currant smell with subtle notes of vanilla while maintaining the skunky notes.
Once the buds have been fully cured, the aroma sharpens slightly while remaining somewhat mild as all of the scents snap into focus. Many of these same notes are noticeable in the flavour and are joined by a distinctly juicy grape taste on the inhale. Those familiar with cassis liquor will feel like sipping a full glass of it in a Burgundy vineyard. The inhale slowly gives way, which slowly gives way to more earthy and skunky notes on the exhale, leaving behind a subtle vanilla aftertaste.
The effects of Cassis Automatic are distinctly indica with a relaxing body high and a mild cerebral uplift. This strain is a fantastic choice for unwinding at the end of a long day or just letting off some steam.
