On Friday the 23rd of October 2015 a new talk show will be launched, starring Tommy Chong as the host. This new show is called ‘Almost Legal’ and is about all the things that affect the status of cannabis smokers in any way.
‘Almost Legal’ is a satirical version of traditional late night talk shows, including celebrity interviews, sketches and musical performances. The concept has actually already been called ‘a stoner version of Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show’ and ‘the ultimate counter culture variety show’. Great praises for a series that has not aired yet! Expectations are high, which has a lot to do with the legendary show host. Tommy Chong was born only 8 months after The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 came into effect. He became a world famous spokesman for the use of cannabis, and now at age 77, his beloved plant is almost legal again.
The first episodes of ‘Almost Legal’ will feature guests such as Steve-O, Hannibal Buress, Danny Trejo, Garfunkel & Oates, and Andy Milonakis, and many more. Together with the Cheech & Chong star, they will discuss anything that has to do with smoking pot, both positive and negative, including Chong’s own battle with cancer and his treatment trough medicinal cannabis.
This new comedy series, sponsored by WeedMaps, will air via FilmOn Networks who also co-produced the show. In addition to its own streaming site FilmOn.com the company also secured distribution over Dish Network. The series is directed by Tommy’s son Paris Chong, executively produced by Eli Graham and written by Sam Brown, Joe Wagner, Kyle Williams and Eddie Ifft.
