Breeding Grounds is where Sensi Seeds works alongside some of the most respected names in cannabis - Humboldt Seed Company, Aficionado, Serge Cannabis, and others. It's a concept Sensi Seeds built from the ground up - because we believed the best genetics would come from bringing the best people together.
Sharing has always been at the heart of cannabis culture. Clones passed over fences, seeds traded between growers, knowledge exchanged freely between people who'd never met in person. The genetics that shaped the modern cannabis landscape didn't develop in isolation - they came out of a community that understood the plant got better when people worked together.
Breeding Grounds is built on that same instinct. Sensi Seeds has been breeding cannabis since 1985, and over those decades we've developed some of the most influential genetics in the industry - and built relationships with the breeders who've done the same. This programme is where those relationships produce something new.
When Alan Dronkers and Nevil Schoenmakers’ right-hand man Marcel worked together in the early 1990s to develop Jack Herer, they showed what happens when serious breeding minds combine. That spirit of collaboration has always been part of how great cannabis genetics are made. Breeding Grounds is how we're bringing that back, at scale, with some of the best breeders working today.
No two collaborations are the same. Some start with a specific flavour or effect profile in mind. Others begin with a particular strain from each side that we think have something interesting to offer each other. Some of the breeding efforts take place in Denmark, Colombia and the US, while others take place at Sensi Seeds HQ.
What they all have in common is that the best of both sides goes into every cross.
Every strain that comes out of Breeding Grounds goes through the same testing and quality standards we apply across our entire catalogue. The collaboration is the creative process. The rigour is non-negotiable.
The breeders we invite into Breeding Grounds are people whose work we've followed, respected, and in many cases grown ourselves. Humboldt Seed Company, Aficionado French Connection, Serge Cannabis, Fat Beans, AK, Ziplock Seeds, and more; each brings a distinct breeding philosophy and a body of work that speaks for itself.
Ultimately, the best way to understand what Breeding Grounds is about is to look at what it's resulted in. Every strain on this page came out of that process - and each one tells its own story.
