In this report, we’ll outline our time with Dough Boy Feminized from the Sensi Seeds 2025 release with Death Row. This plant surprised us with its incredible combination of sativa-like stretch, remarkably average height, and impressive yields. While keeping this thing in line presented a few minor challenges, the final result was one of the most impressive yields we’ve ever recorded.
Total growing time: 90 days
Flowering time: 62 days
Final height: 93 cm
Final yield: 127 grams
THC content: 22.4%
To make sure that our Dough Boy Feminized cannabis plant had everything it needed to thrive, we grew it under a 1000 W Philips GreenPower lamp hung three metres off the ground and set to an 18/6 schedule. The plant itself was grown in an 8-litre plastic pot filled with BAC Lava mix and topped with a layer of small Rockwool cubes. Throughout the grow, we kept the space at a consistent 23°C during the day with a nighttime temperature of 21°C and a relative humidity of 65%.
Germination & seedling
The first step with any plant is to germinate the seeds. Fortunately, this is also the simplest part of the grow as it only requires a few basic household items. To germinate our seeds, we began folding up a few paper towels and sprinkling them with just enough water so that they were thoroughly damp without dripping and put them onto a plate. Next, we placed our cannabis seeds on the dampened towels and covered them with another damp paper towel, placed that all into an open plastic bag, and set it somewhere warm.
After a day or so, our seed had cracked open, and the taproot was sticking out about a centimetre. At this point, we placed the seed into a pre-soaked Rockwool Cube (taproot down), set it under a 600 W LED lamp, and simply left it alone to develop roots. After three days, we gave our seedling its first feeding with 100 ml of pH-balanced water (pH 6.2; EC 0.8) mixed with a small dose of rooting hormone.

By the end of the first week, our plant was standing 8 cm tall, and the roots were growing out of the bottom of the Rockwool cube, indicating that it was time to move our plant into its new home, the 8-litre plastic pot placed beneath our 1000 W lamp.
Vegetation

Week two saw our Dough Boy Feminized cannabis plant grow only slightly to reach a new height of 10 cm and its first set of new leaves. There wasn’t much to do at this point, but we doubled the volume of water to 200 ml per day (pH 6.0; EC 1.4) and mixed it with Bio Grow liquid nutrients.

In week three, our plantnearly doubled in size to reach a new height of 19 cm and developed multiple sets of new leaves along fairly long internodal spacing. By now, we were starting to see the first growth of lateral branches. To keep up with all of this new development, we doubled the volume of water to 200 ml per day (pH 6.0; EC 1.4) mixed with Bio Grow liquid nutrient. With flowering just around the corner, we again doubled the volume of water to 400 ml per day.
Before we could make the switch to flowering, we needed to take one more precaution, and we hung small white satchels from the plant’s lowest branches. These little packets contain Neoseiulus californicus and Amblyseius swirskii; tiny creatures which have a symbiotic relationship with cannabis plants. These things won’t cause any harm to our plant, but they will hunt down pests like spider mites and thrips, which can destroy even the healthiest crops. We replace these every four weeks to keep a fresh supply.
Flowering

As we entered week four, it was time to flip our plant over to the flowering phase. This is always one of the simplest parts of any grow, and all we needed to do was switch our lights to a 12/12 schedule and slightly alter our watering habits. We began daily feedings with 800 ml of water (pH 6.0; EC 1.8) and switched to Bio Flower liquid nutrients.
Over this week, our plant continued to develop at a steady rate and grew to a new height of 25 cm. By now, the plant was short and bushy, and the lateral branches were barely growing at all. The internodal spacing was moderate, but was stretching rapidly.

Week five saw our plant undergo its first major growth spurt as it gained 14 cm to finish the week at a height of 39 cm. While some of this was new vegetative growth on the main stem, the main driver of growth was massive stretch that saw the internodal spacing more than triple in a week. The most impressive development of this week was the lateral branches, which began exploding in every direction. To keep up with this rapid growth, we upped our daily feedings to 1000 ml of water.

In week six, our plant’s growth slowed a bit, growing to a height of 47 cm. By now, the internodal spacing had stretched out so far that this plant was almost unrecognisable compared to just two weeks prior. The lateral branches were continuing to grow rapidly, and the plant was definitely showing off its sativa lineage. With the plant set to begin blooming any day now, we increased the volume of water to 1500 ml per day. This would remain unchanged for the rest of the grow.

Week seven thing sped back up a bit as our plant grew 15 cm to a height of 62 cm. By now, the lateral branches were growing nearly straight upwards and were about two-thirds the height of the main stem, and the entire plant was a lanky tangle of branches and leaves. While it may look chaotic, this structure is fantastic as it allows for more than adequate light penetration and airflow, ensuring that even the lowest parts of the plant are productive. In fact, we were beginning to see the first signs of flowering all along every branch as small clusters of white pistils started growing.

In week eight, we had the single largest burst of growth in the entire cycle as our plant grew 16 cm, reaching a new height of 78 cm. By now, the plant was in full bloom, and the buds were growing noticeably larger with each passing day, while the lateral branches were holding up nicely.

Week nine saw the plant begin to wind down its growth as it finished the week at a height of 88 cm. Over this period, the buds began to fatten up, and the main cola began to develop. The lateral branches were still growing almost vertically and reached about halfway up the stem.

In week ten, our plant grew only 3 cm to finish the week at 91 cm. The buds were developing nicely, and the main cola was a large, dense bulb on top of a tall, slender main stem. The lateral branches were doing a fine job of supporting the weight of their buds, but they were beginning to bend considerably.

Over weeks eleven and twelve, there was nothing left to do but allow nature to run its course. The plant reached its maximum height of 93 cm, and the buds continued to develop.

Finally, in week thirteen, we were able to harvest our Dough Boy Feminized cannabis plant.
Harvest
To harvest our Dough Boy Feminized cannabis plant, we first cut it down at the base and trimmed off all of the fan leaves. Once that was done, we hung it upside-down in a climate-controlled drying room with a temperature of 15.5°C and a relative humidity of 50%. We left it here until the smallest branches snapped when bent, which typically takes anywhere from 10-20 days, depending on the size of the plant.
Once the plant was sufficiently dry, we began to prepare the buds for curing by first removing them from the branches and then trimming away any remaining leaves. Our plant created a tremendous amount of moderately-sized buds which were dense, leafy, and incredibly resinous. This made trimming something of a chore, but, after some time, everything was ready, and we placed the buds into glass jars for curing.
We left these jars open for the first 24 hours to allow as much moisture as possible to escape before sealing them and placing them into a cool, dark place. We regularly “burped” these jars several times per day for an hour each and gradually reduced the frequency to only once a day. After several weeks, the buds reached the perfect consistency. On average, the curing process takes 4-6 weeks and cannot be skipped or rushed.
Once finished, we were able to harvest a very nice 127 grams of dried flower with an impressive THC content of 22.4%.
Terpene profile
As our Dough Boy Feminized plant reached maturity, we began to notice a mild, candy-like aroma with sweet and fruity notes. As the plant neared harvest, hints of citrus and musty earth from the Durban Poison lineage also appeared to balance out the more sugary aspects.
After we cured the buds, they kept their sweet, creamy aroma alongside powerful notes of tropical fruit punch, ripe berries, and a slightly earthy finish. These same notes come out in the equally mouthwatering flavour, which boasts decadent flavours of sugary candy, tropical fruits, and a creamy finish. As soon as we tasted it, we were hit with a burst of fruity sweetness, while the exhale left a pastry-like creaminess lingering on our tongues.
As for the effects of Dough Boy Feminized, they’re really quite balanced and deliver a euphoric and relaxing experience. Things kick off with a gentle cerebral uplift that boosts focus and creativity before continuing into a deeply soothing body high. Overall, the high is extremely mellow and balanced and makes this strain a great choice for unwinding at the end of a long day or just casually chilling in a park.
The outcome
In the end, we were more than satisfied with our Dough Boy Feminized cannabis plant. While some indoor growers with limited room may struggle to tame this beast, those who are willing to dedicate the space will find an incredibly productive plant that’s more than worth the effort.
