About Sensi True Blood Feminized

Sensi True Blood Feminized is a 60/40 indica/sativa hybrid developed in collaboration with Sticky Finger Seeds at their outdoor breeding facility in Hawaii. To create Sensi True Blood Feminized, we combined Sensi Seeds’ stable Maple Leaf Indica with Maui True Blood (a cultivar developed by Sticky Finger Seeds as part of their True Blood and Hawaiian Bloodline series). The result is a robust, fast-growing plant of average size that pairs the reliability of Maple Leaf Indica with one of the rarest traits in cannabis: blood-red sap.

That blood-red sap is what Sensi True Blood Feminized thanks its name to, as this is an incredible strains with the rare bleeder trait. When cut, around 50% of Sensi True Blood Feminized plants can release a bright red sap. This unusual trait is caused by high levels of anthocyanin, the same compound that makes some buds turn purple.

The term “Blood” has long been used in Hawaii for cannabis strains associated with red sap, and the Maui True Blood genetics pass this trait on to Sensi True Blood Feminized. This bleeding effect is most common during the vegetative stage and generally disappears during flowering, though some buds can still “bleed” when ground up.

Growth pattern of Sensi True Blood Feminized

Sensi True Blood Feminized is a robust, fast-growing, indica-dominant plant that develops a large main cola, with robust lateral branches and relatively long internodal spacing. If left untrained, these plants tend to focus most of their flowering energy into a single main cola, which can make topping a good idea for growers looking for a bushier plant.

With a 55- to 65-day flowering period, Sensi True Blood Feminized plants generally stay average in size, reaching 70-110 cm indoors and 100-200 cm outdoors, and generate XL yields. Indoors, growers can expect to harvest as much as 460-650 grams per square metre, while outdoor growers can see 550-750 grams per plant under ideal circumstances.

The buds generally develop into large, conical flowers with a pronounced point, relatively compact size, and somewhat dense vegetation. The buds are made up of medium to large calyxes sitting beneath long, fiery pistils that become increasingly vibrant as the flowers mature. If left to their own devices, these plants have a habit of producing a single, remarkably long cola that can occupy the upper metre of a plant. If you’re not specifically after a tall, thin plant, then topping or training Sensi True Blood Feminized is strongly recommended.

Fortunately, these plants respond well to topping and a wide range of advanced growing techniques such as mainlining or lollipopping. Because they do best when topped, they're less suited to a sea of green (SOG), but their vigorous growth and long internodes make them an excellent choice for a screen of green (ScrOG) setup. Overall, this strain is a good fit for any climate, but thrives particularly well in cooler, humid conditions.

Effects, taste, and smell of Sensi True Blood Feminized

As Sensi True Blood Feminized plants mature, growers will begin to notice a complex aroma with base of a distinct, tropical sweetness. Just beneath that lie richer notes of earthy hash and warm maple syrup, giving the scent a bright tropical character and deep, old-school richness.

After drying and curing, the buds take on a more well-rounded aroma where the sweet tropical notes are perfectly balanced by the scent of spicy hash. Warm syrupy tones add a layer of depth to the sweetness, and the earthy base becomes more noticeable, resulting in a dense, layered smell.

Sampling Sensi True Blood Feminized delivers an intense strawberry sweetness followed by a distinctly pine-like flavour. This gives way to rich, old-school hash notes, and gives the flavour considerably more complexity. The contrast between sweet fruit, fresh pine, and earthy hash wraps up with a lingering aftertaste that sticks around long after exhale.

The high from Sensi True Blood Feminized kicks off with an energetic rush that snaps things into focus, making this strain particularly well-suited for active daytime use. After a bit of time, however, the physical relaxation becomes increasingly potent. While the high starts out as alert and functional, things wrap up with a deep, long-lasting body stone.
