Sensi Seeds CBD: From precious seeds to high quality products

CBD: how it's made More and more people are discovering the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD). It is one of the most valued cannabinoids and can play a key role in maintaining health. We leave nothing to chance in the production of our CBD oil and we control the entire production process – from the first seed to the shelf.

Even if you aren’t the least bit interested in cannabis, you’ll probably have heard something about CBD. There has been a real boom in CBD over the last few years. Oils, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes, capsules, foods – new products are springing up like mushrooms. At the same time, a tangled web of manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers has sprung up, which means it’s really not that easy to maintain transparency.

Sensi Seeds has been working with cannabis and cannabinoids for over 30 years; long before CBD became hip and trendy. All our CBD products are produced by our sister company HempFlax in Groningen.

HempFlax has spent years perfecting the CBD extraction process. Our aim has not changed since the outset: to manufacture a product of premium quality and purity, with no additional chemicals and additives. See for yourself how we do that:

How is Sensi Seeds CBD oil manufactured?

1. Cultivation and harvest

Farmers plant our hemp in the north-east of the Netherlands. This is hemp grown for fibre, which is included on the EU catalogue of varieties, thus guaranteeing a THC value of less than 0.2%. We use a machine that we designed ourselves to harvest the crop in August. It separates the plant into pieces measuring approximately 70 cm and ensures that the sensitive top part of the plant is not broken. The leaves and stems are separated, and collected. The entire harvest process takes place without the plant parts touching the ground.

2. Drying

The drying process takes place immediately following harvest. The harvest is dried within four hours and then compressed into pellets. Because we heat our drying facility indirectly, the plant material does not come into contact with any exhaust gas.

3. Carbon dioxide extraction

We send the pellets to an extraction company in Germany that processes only organic materials. The use of supercritical CO2 enables CBD to be carefully extracted, without relying on organic solvents. It’s not the most cost-effective solution, but it is the best one.

4. Dehydration and decarboxylation

In this step, the raw extracts are dehydrated and decarboxylated. CBD occurs in the cannabis plant as carboxyl acid (CBD-A). When these substances are heated, the acid releases a carbon dioxide molecule. This process is known as decarboxylation. This is the only way to ensure the subsequent therapeutic effects.

5. Mixing, testing and filling

We never mix our CBD extract with alcohol, but rather with hemp oil or coconut oil. This step is necessary to increase the bioavailability and the absorption of CBD through the digestive tract. Only when the finished CBD oil meets our high standards do we fill it into bottles or capsules.

Your health is our driver and it has been since 1985.

Cannabis is a fantastic agricultural crop and medicinal plant. We spare no expense or effort in the production of our CBD oil. Sensi Seeds CBD oil is produced from organic hemp grown for fibre and from whole plants. Together with our sister company HempFlax, we have perfected the CBD extraction process over many years. The result: high quality products with the promise of consistent quality. 100% natural.

Sounds perfect unless one live's in Britain, here the only people allowed to administer the THC oil is a medical proffesionals.
I smoked grass for 35 year's for pain but because of the lack of the english government,I have been forced to give it up or give up my driving license.

Being a disabled combat veteran with severe mobility problems I had little choice.
And because Britain does not recognize klinefelters syndrome,I am forced to endure the severe headaches with absolutely no help.
I have been using CBD capsules for some time, manufacturers are "Canabidol" which is made in England.
I purchase these because they are all that is available.
They appear to help but my headaches still persist and will untill I die.
Would you suggest I perchance your product's for better results ?.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your comment, I'm sorry to hear about your condition. I just had a look at Canabidol capsules and, if I found the correct ones, they contain 10 mg of CBD per capsule. The Sensi Seeds ones contain 15 mg of CBD per capsule, so it is probably worth trying, although we can't give any kind of medical advice as we are not a licensed medical company. This is the link for further information about our CBD capsules. I hope this is useful, and that you find some further relief from your headaches.

With best wishes,

I often wondered how you got this produced! Now I know, thanks. I have tried some oil, but I don’t think I took it long enough. Thanks for the information.

Scarlet Palmer

Puede encontrar la información sobre las diferentes concentraciones de CBD en el aceite aquí:

Con los mejores deseos,

Why co2? I wish you'd use ethanol, or lychee spirits. Gosh darn lab techs.

Scarlet Palmer

Hi James,

CO2 is the cleanest and most efficient extraction method currently available for large-scale processing. I freely admit I've never heard of lychee spirits, but I will investigate!

With best wishes,
