Peace Love & Harmony Feminized

Peace Love & Harmony Feminized

In this report, we’ll go over our time with Peace Love & Harmony. This 50/50 hybrid is the best of both worlds, with a stretched-out sativa-like growth pattern ideal for advanced growing techniques combined with the short height and dense buds of indicas. While the powerful aroma may give some indoor growers pause, this strain is sure to please anyone.

Total growing time: 88 days

Flowering time: 28 days

Final height: 93 cm

Final yield: 102 grams

THC content: 21.73%

Just like with each of our grows, we grew our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized cannabis plant in an 8-litre plastic pot filled with BAC Lava mix and topped with a thin layer of Rockwool cubes. We kept this pot under a 1000 W Phillips GreenPower HPS lamp, which we fixed to the ceiling 3 metres above the plant. During vegetation, we kept the light set to an 18/6 schedule before flipping it to a 12/12 schedule during the flowering phase.

We kept our grow space at a stable 23°C during the day and allowed it to drop to 21°C at night. During the vegetative phase, we kept the relative humidity at 65% and gradually lowered it as the plant matured.

Germination & seedling

To give our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized the best shot, the first thing we needed to do was to germinate our seed. To this end, we used the industry-standard paper towel method since it’s the fastest, easiest, and most reliable way to germinate seeds.

We started by folding up a couple of paper towels and setting them onto a plate.  Next, we added enough water so that the paper towels were thoroughly damp, but not dripping wet. After this, we sprinkled our seeds on top, leaving a few centimetres between each one. Lastly, we covered them with another damp paper towel, placed the whole thing into an open plastic bag, and set it somewhere warm.

After a little more than a day, our seed had cracked open, and its short taproot was sticking out about a centimetre. At this stage, our seed was ready to be moved to a pre-soaked Rockwool cube. The seed was planted with the taproot pointing downwards and placed under a 600 W LED lamp since, at this stage, seedlings are incredibly delicate. For the next few days, we simply left it alone to give it time to take root.

After three days, it was time to give our plant its first feeding using 100 ml of pH-balanced water (pH 6.2; EC 0.8) mixed with a small dose of rooting hormone. At the end of the first week, our plant was looking good, standing 8 cm tall, and the roots were growing out of the bottom of the Rockwool cube. This meant that it was time to move it to our 8-litre plastic pot and place it under the 1000 W lamp. Lastly, we gave it its first proper feeding with 100 ml of water (pH 6.0; EC 1.4) mixed with Bio Grow liquid nutrients.

Vegetation

Over the second week, our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized cannabis plant almost doubled in height and topped out at 15 cm. By the end of the week, it had developed multiple new sets of leaves along somewhat stretched-out internodal spacing. These were fairly short, broad, and a healthy shade of medium green. With another week of rapid growth ahead, we started daily feedings with 200 ml of water.

Over week three, our plant saw the single largest week-on-week growth of its growth, gaining 20 cm to reach a new height of 35 cm. This is on the taller end for such a young plant, and, combined with the longer internodal spacing, we were convinced that this might explode into a monster. By the end of the week, the plant’s lower branches had grown nearly as much as the main stem, and the entire plant was taking on a rounded, bushy appearance. Even at this early stage, the leaves were showing some mild clawing at the tips. This could mean a few different things, but it isn’t especially uncommon with plants growing this rapidly and should clear up in a week or so as we increase feedings to 400 ml of water per day.

Before switching to flowering, there was one last precaution that we needed to take; we hung small satchels of Neoseiulus californicus and Amblyseius swirskii from the plant’s lowest branches. These pouches each contain hundreds of bugs that have developed a symbiotic relationship with cannabis plants. This means that they won’t harm the plant at all, but will hunt down pests like thrips and spider mites that can decimate a harvest. We replace these every four weeks to maintain a fresh supply.

Flowering

At the start of week four, it was time to switch our plant over to flowering by flipping our lights to a 12/12 schedule and beginning daily feedings with 800 ml of pH-balanced water (pH 6.0; EC 1.8) mixed with Bio Flower liquid nutrients. Lastly, we lowered the humidity to 60%. By the end of the week, our plant had grown to 48 cm tall, and the lower branches were still about as tall as the main stem, with extremely long internodal spacing.

Week five saw a somewhat surprising slowdown in vertical growth as our plant finished the week at a height of 56 cm, only 8 cm taller than it started. To be honest, this was a little surprising given this plant’s previously rapid growth and long internodal spacing. However, the real stars were the lateral branches, which were growing beautifully and giving the plant a classic Christmas tree shape, and reminding us that this strain was still a 50% indica. By now, we were seeing the first signs of flowering and, to help our plant keep up, we increased our daily feedings to 1000 ml.

In week six, our plant was now standing 67 cm tall with the main stem climbing well above the lower canopy. By now, our plant had grown pre-flower clusters along every branch. These flowering sites were incredibly spaced out, highlighting this strain’s 50% sativa genetics. At this point, these were still little more than clumps of pistils, but things were off to a promising start. With full bloom set to kick off any day now, we upped our daily feedings to 1500 ml per day.

In week seven, our plant continued to grow, reaching a new height of 73 cm. This was accompanied by rapid growth of the buds, as every flowering site was getting noticeably larger every day. Overall, our plant was doing incredibly well, and the main cola was dominating the upper third of the plant while the lower branches were each covered in lovely buds.

Week eight saw limited vertical growth, as our plant reached a new height of 79 cm. By now, the main cola was nearly fully formed, and each flowering site was developing ever-larger buds, leaving the entire plant covered in flowers. At this point, the buds weren’t terribly dense, but the size was impressive.

In week nine, our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized cannabis plant grew to 84 cm tall while the buds continued to fatten with every passing day. The top of the plant was a picture-perfect cola while the lower reaches were a dense forest of dompact, conical buds. To reduce the risks of mould at this crucial stage, we lowered the humidity to 55%.

Over week ten, our plant’s main stem continued to grow upwards, giving the plant a total height of 88 cm. Each bud was now rather dense and was starting to develop vibrant orange pistils, indicating that flowering was just around the corner. At this point, there was nothing left to do but wait for the plant to ripen on its own.

Week eleven saw our plant grow to a new height of 91 cm as the main cola continued to grow upwards and fatten considerably. The buds were still growing denser, and harvest was just around the corner.

Finally, at the end of week twelve, it was time to harvest our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized plant. With a final height of 93 cm after 12 weeks, we were seriously impressed and excited to see the results.

Harvest

Once it was time to harvest our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized cannabis plant, we started by cutting it down at the base. Next, we removed the fan leaves and hung the plant upside-down to dry in a dark room with a stable climate of 15.5°C and a relative humidity of 50%. The plant was left to dry until the smaller branches were dry enough to snap when bent; this usually takes 10-20 days.

Once the plant had adequately dried, the buds were removed and trimmed up before being put into glass jars for curing. While our plant was covered in fairly dense vegetation, most of this was fan leaves, which were removed in the previous step. The remaining flowers didn’t have too many remaining leaves, and what was left were relatively small and spaced out, making for an easy trim.

Lastly, we left the glass jars unsealed for a full day to give the majority of the remaining moisture a chance to evaporate. We then sealed the jars and “burped” them for an hour at a time, multiple times a day, for the next several weeks. We gradually lowered the frequency to only once per day until the buds were ready. In the end, the curing process takes 4-6 weeks and is a necessary final step in ensuring high-quality buds.

In the end, we were able to harvest 103 grams of dried flower with a THC content of 21.73%.

Terpene profile

As our Peace Love & Harmony Feminized cannabis plant neared harvest, it began giving off a fairly powerful aroma, which privacy-minded growers will need to keep in mind. If you’re worried about maintaining some discretion, you’ll likely want to take extra steps while these plants are in bloom. The scent was fresh, tangy, and boasted a distinct mandarin citrus aroma, layered on top of sweet, fruity notes from the strain’s Runtz genetics.

After we had dried our flowers, they took on their signature scent; a mouthwatering aroma dominated by mandarin and tropical fruit, with more subtle notes of candy sweetness. The flavour was equally delicious, with a distinctly sharp citrus taste hitting instantly. This was followed by sugary candy notes with a smooth, slightly creamy finish, leading to a sweet aftertaste with lingering citrus notes.

The effects of Peace Love & Harmony Feminized were distinctly indica, with just a touch of its sativa lineage. The whole affair kicked off with a cerebral buzz that sent our minds reeling, and this soon gave way to a supremely relaxing body high that hit rather hard. On the whole, this strain makes a great pick for slowly wrapping up after a social evening or for just leisurely getting a few things done around the house.

The outcome

Overall, we loved our time with Peace Love & Harmony Feminized. The strain is fairly compact, though more than capable of generating impressive yields. Aside from the impressive main cola, the lower branches all also produced gorgeous, dense buds, which were all packed with resin, making this strain an incredible pick for making extracts. We would strongly recommend this strain for indoor growers, though the powerful odour is worth considering.
